Kanchipuram is one of the oldest cities of Tamil Nadu, also known as Kanjeevaram or Kanchi. It is one of the most frequently visited pilgrim and spiritual destinations in South India. Widely known for numerous medieval temples with intricate architecture, it was a major centre of learning for all the major religions in ancient India. Ekambeshwarar Temple
Also known as Ekambaranatha Temple, it is the highest, largest and the most notable temple in Kanchipuram. Covering an area of 40 acres and dating back to the Pallava period, it houses the earth form of the five elemental forms of Lord Shiva. It also has intricate designs and vast structures of carved stonework. In addition, a mango tree reportedly known to be around 3500 years old is situated in the inner sanctum of the temple which is also said to represent the four Vedas and bears fruits of four different tastes each season.
International Library
Located around 3.5 km away from kanchipuramin Enathur, it contains a vast treasure of ancient palm leaf manuscripts written across centuries. The library also houses a 60 feet statue of AdiShankaracharya in front of it.
Kachapeshwarar Temple
This temple is also renowned for its architectural magnificence akin to that of the Mahabalipuram temple.
KanchiKamakshi Temple
It is the abode of Goddess Kamakshi, one of Goddess Parvathi’s forms and the consort of Lord Shiva.
KanchiKudil
This place is home to the ancient cultural and sculptural legacy of the Hindu religion.
VaikuntaPerumal Temple
Being one of the most ancient temples with three-tier Sannathi cum Gopuram (entrance gate), it is widely known for its exquisite pillared corridors around the sanctum.
VaradarajaPerumal Temple
This temple is famous for its Gopuram which has spectacular views across the lush green fields along the Kanchipuram road.
Covelong Beach

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary
You can experience wilderness at this sanctuary which is a home to beautiful birds including the migratory ones. It is the oldest bird sanctuary of the country.
