The enchanting city of Allahabad is synonymous with Hindu mythology, Indian history and rich culture. Sangam
A must see attractions of Allahabad, Sangam is the confluence of the three holy rivers namely Ganga, Yamuna and Sarasvati. It is the place where the Kumbh Mela is held.
Allahabad Fort
A perfect example of art, design and architecture, this fort was built by the emperor Akbar in 1583. It houses beautiful structures like Ashoka pillar, Jodhabai Palace, Saraswati Kup and Patalpuri Temple (underground temple) dedicated to Lord Rama. It is believed that the Lord had visited this temple.
Anand Bhawan
Once the abode of the Nehrus, Anand Bhawan is now home to the memorabilia of the Nehru-Gandhi family and is considered as one of the best museums of India.
Swaraj Bhawan
Built by Pt. Moti Lal Nehru, it is the place where the former Prime Minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi was born.
Khusrau Bagh
It is a huge garden where the tombs of Khusrau (the eldest son of Mughal Emperor Jahangir), his sister, and his Rajput mother are located. Its carvings and designs are attractive.
Allahabad Museum
It is a national museum whose foundation stone was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1931. It displays a variety of terracotta artifacts, sculptures, findings of Indus Valley, bronze seals and coins, miniature paintings etc.
Chandra Shekhar Azad Park
It is the historic park where the great freedom fighter Chandra Shekar Azad sacrificed his life in 1931 during the independence struggle. A memorial is built there in his honour.
