According to the legends the idol of Lord Venkateshwara (also known as Vishnu, Balaji and Srinivasa) inside the sanctum sanctorum is self manifested. Also known as Tirupati Balaji, the temple finds mention in the ancient Hindu scriptures like Puranas, Vedas and Shastras.

Every day is celebrated like a festival at this temple. Different pujas and darshans are conducted at regular intervals every day. The biggest festival is ‘Brahmotsavam’ which is celebrated with great enthusiasm at the temple. It is a nine-day festival celebrated in the month of September every year.
